With the Confederation Cup now being a thing of the past, the Khaya team can turn its attention to future projects. 2020 will be upon us before you can say "Olympics" and we will be bringing you news as it appears in our periphery. The following article surrounds the Brazilian training bases as has been agreed upon between the Brazilian and Japanese Committee's.

1. Brazilian athletes will be based at six training bases for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

2. Brazilian Olympic Committee will have their main support base at the University of Rikkyo.

3. About 120 athletes from 10 different disciplines will use the university's facilities in preparation for the Games.

4. Approximately 90 Brazilian athletes will be based in Sagamihara.

5. Hamamatsu, Enoshima, Ota and Koto have also been designated as preparation venues.

6. The coastal city of Hamamatsu will be a training venue for Brazil's judo and swimming teams.

7. Sports allocated to the remaining bases will depend on athletes’ qualification for the Games.

8. 'The facilities are of the highest quality and provide the athletes with all the conditions to train and adapt the best way possible to the local climate and time.'

9. Prior to making the decisions on the training bases, the Brazilian Olympic Committee visited Japan on five separate occasions to assess venues.

10. Athletes will be able to enjoy Brazilian cuisine in the country's main training bases, while a restaurant will be set up in a school nearby the Olympic Village for those who wish to eat Brazilian food.

11. A hospitality centre will also be established close to the Olympic Village, in Chuo, where athletes will be able to meet with their families and friends.

12. The agreement for the training bases was signed prior to the this month's International Olympic Committee Coordination Commission visit in Tokyo.
